In December all the 4th graders got a packet of definitions to memorize. One was a math one and the other was science. The day we started working on them I told Porter to go in his room and come down when he had the 1st page memorized. He was up there for about 30 seconds. He came down and I rolled my eyes. Well, to my surprise he really did know them!
He was so good at them and had the whole packet of over 200 definitions memorized.
In March he went against the whole 4th grade in his school. He made it to the top 17 in his school.
He then got another packet of words that can be put in a sentence and needed to know those to go against 2 other schools. We would then go to another school and he would have
"The Word Blow-out."
Porter gettin' it done!
Tiv was a good sport! We were there for 2 hours!
Just being nervous, I'm sure!
Giving the correct answer!
Porter made it to the top 17! Out of 3 different 4th grades.
I was so proud of him. At the end they had them fill in some blanks and saw who got the most answers correct. They only announced the top 4.
This boy loves his sister, Tiv!
Grandpa Key came to support also.
So proud of my boy!
Porter's Cheerleaders!
Porter was excited when he saw grandpa there.
Porter and his good friend Cole.
Cole kept saying how good Porter did!
I am so proud of Porter. I kept telling him at this point he put in all the time and he knows them all, this is just a fun little thing to go along with it.
Yep, Porter is excellent at memorizing terms.
Grandpa suggested he should be a doctor.
I would have to agree!
