Monday: Today we woke up, got dressed, and ate some of the same stuff as yesterday for breakfast. We then packed up and checked out of the hotel and headed to Grethe's house. When we saw her at church yesterday, she invited us over to lunch. We drove for about a half hour and finally arrived at her house! When we got there we kind of just sat on the couch. She only speaks Danish so she would just talk to dad and he would translate for us. She picked two things up off the table and told me and my mom to come help. She put the things behind her back and told my mom to choose a hand, then mom told me to choose so I did and she gave me a necklace from that hand and mom a necklace from the different hand! Our necklaces have black string and a whitish pink rock thing on it with two metal feathers holding it together. She also gave dad a glass thing with a bird on it. Then she grabbed a bracelet for me that has lots of little diamonds and things on it. After that mom set the table and we sat down to eat lunch. There were these egg shaped potatoes that she cooked, a meaty brown sauce, pickles that didn't really taste like pickles and like pickled pears or somethings that tasted more like pickles than the pickles did! She asked dad to say te prayer so he folded his arms but she told him he had to just put his hands together. haha! Then we all started eating. When dad had finished she poured a ton of the sauce on his plate and put more potatoes on. LOL. And she also poured lots of sauce on grandpa's plate and told dad he had to smash up all of his potatoes! She also had sparkling water and sparkling orange juice that was actually pretty good! Then dad and Grethe talked for a long time.....then mom wanted to take pictures and stuff and she would say 1...2....3! Grethe would keep counting haha! After taking lots of pictures and stuff Grethe gave us some yummy coconut cake! She kept on calling dad her son and me her grand daughter and she would get mad at mom when she would call dad baby lol! Turns out that dad had changed his email and phone number and she couldn't get ahold of him so she kept on getting mad! It was really funny! We finally convinced Grethe that we had to leave and she let dad go. When we were leaving, her and I hugged and I said hei hei far mor and she loved it! Then she walked us out to the car and held dad's hand the whole way! When we left we looked back and she was still waving at us as we were leaving :'( It was really sad but hopefully she will be able to come visit us some day! After that we drove for like an hour to Germany! We stopped at this little German place and made some hot cocoa and took pictures by the border! Don't worry, I did wear my German Birkenstocks there!:) We left Germany and started driving again to the port to go over to Odense but the ferry wasn't there because of Penicostal, which is a Danish Holiday. Of course today is the only day it didn't run. So, we drove back over to Sonneborg and ate dinner at this place that was a lot like Subway, but wasn't very good. When we were done eating we started driving to Odense. Grandma Key has a lot of relatives from there so We stopped there and looked at Hans Christian Andersen's house and grandma's 5th great grandpa's house whom lived next door to each other. They then did a walk where they all walked around to the different sites. Dad, Mom and I stayed in the van and drove around. We saw a lot of the cool stuff too. After we were done in that little city we drove back to the hotel that we were staying at in Copenhagen. We got some hot chocolate then got ready for bed and went to sleep!
