We made it to Palmyra last night and were up and excited to see all the sites that were out there.......The only problem? It was COLD!!!
Just a little snow in this picture....Joseph Smith said that there were churches everywhere and that is still true today. There is a church on each corner at this intersection. None of which are the same. You can't see the other 5 or more that were surrounding it.....Crazy!
First stop was the Visitors Center.
We also met some cute missionaries and sent a picture home to her mom:)

Aaron pointed out how crazy this is that Joseph Smith was so young at the time of The First Vision.
He just looks so young....
We then headed up to Hill Cumorah.

We made it! It was up pretty high! Very much worth it though!
Because they do the Hill Cumorah pageant here it was pretty commercialized.

We hiked down the backside of the mountain. It was very peaceful.
We then headed over to where Joseph grew up and the sacred grove....
This was his farmland. Still Freezing!

This was considered the "Big House"
They moved into this house for a little bit then couldn't afford it so had to move back into the little house. It was a very hard move for Joseph's Mother.....

It took us about 10 minutes to walk around it.
I bet it is very beautiful in the summer when it warms up.
I hung back and turned my phone on to the hymn "Joseph Smith's First Prayer" it wasn't playing very well until I bent down to pick up a leaf when it came on suddenly. I had a calm feeling that was amazing! We then continued walking around silently.

We then drove by the Palmyra Temple......

We then got lunch at a little diner. The food was pretty yummy!
Then we headed to the place where the first Book Of Mormon was printed. The boys were very interested in this....

We then drove out to Fayette New York to see the Peter Whitmer home which is where the L.D.S. church was organized....
This was definitely a fun-filled day! After we left this home we went back to get some dinner! We found a Buffalo Wild Wings and had the most AMAZING dessert pizza....it was a little bit of heaven and we ate WAY too much:)

Ryan went to support Alan at his track meet....Apparently the weather wasn't that much nicer at home. Warmer? YES!!
